Enrollment - Kids' Tech University (KTU) at BGSU

Eligibility

This program is intended for up to 150 children ages 9-12 (as of September 30, 2016) who live within a one-hour driving distance of Bowling Green State University. There are no exceptions to this rule. If a child is enrolled without satisfying this requirement we will cancel their registration and notify the parent.

Program Expectations
When you register your child for Kids’ Tech University (Bowling Green State University - Spring Semester Event) you are enrolling him or her to attend ALL FOUR of the program dates. We are expecting that the children will attend both the interactive session AND the hands-on activity of the day. If you want your child to participate in only the hands-on OR interactive session of the day, please do not register to attend the program.

We are striving to create a “university feel” that includes children attending an interactive session (lecture) with their peers in a university lecture hall. Volunteers will be with the children (in a ratio of 1 to 10) within the lecture space. These volunteers are from Bowling Green State University and will watch over your child until you come to pick him or her up. To make this a better educational experience for the children we ask that the parents watch the interactive session from the back of the lecture hall. After the interactive session, parents can pick up their child and escort him or her to the hands-on activities. Volunteers are also there to escort the children and parents to the hands on activities.

Spring 2017 Registration Procedure
• 150 children will be accepted into the program
• Registration is on a “first-come, first-served” basis that is open to children satisfying the age restriction, regardless of academic achievements, and living within a one-hour drive of the BGSU campus. A waiting list will be available after registration is full for a county or for the program.

Registration Fee
In order to keep up with the costs of providing a quality program, there will be a registration fee of $90.00 per child, payable upon registration. The parent will be directed to an online site to pay electronically; further directions will be given at the time of enrollment.

You must register your child under the correct locality; failure to do so will result in your registration being deleted.

A waiting list will be available after registration is full for a county or for the program.
